Topic: Institution/Social Visit
Place of Visit: Life Skill BVET Centre for Counselling and Training,
Chathannoor
On February 2 nd 2024 Friday we the students of Baselios Marthoma Mathews II Training College Kottarakkara, went to Lifeskill BVET Centre for counselling and training, Chathannoor as a part of our 2 year B. Ed curriculum. It was based on a practical of EDU 02 Institutional or social visit for capacity building activity.
It was really a great experience to spend some time with such special children. There were almost 12 children who where specially talented. We reach there around 10:00 a.m. At first there was a formal section for around half an hour. At this section the director John lucos sir explain the detailed functioning of the institution the members who are present there the students teachers .We witnessed the making processes of several craft works,arts like paintings, pictures, daily useful materials like soap, lotion etc. Visiting such please as a part of our curriculum helps to produce better beings within us. As a B.ed trainee we are supposed to understand each and every child their needs and sacrifices. Visiting such places made us realise a condition of special children. The founder of the institution was John Lucas sir. He along with his fellow beings especially the teachers and the non teaching staff are doing a great job. Through this visit we get to know more about Special children mentally retarded kids Autism patients etc. Moreover they are all happy there more like a family. We left the place at around 1:30 p.m.
